To quote Steve's own words: "Maiden Voyage is the first in a series of solo projects. It is not a "concept" album or a theme based work. It is a collection of songs that I felt needed to be recorded to document some of my experiences during the past few years. Some of the material was conceived while touring Europe with Pete Bardens, while other songs were unfinished works that had been in the "vault" for years...
Bonus to the original 1998 release is the addition of the track "Endless" which was written during the same period as the album but laid unfinished until recently.
